CHAPTER ONE
2022/05/04
“May the Fourth be With You”
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
He was weak. He was not strong enough. He would never win. Never.
The Jedi-in-training lay on the ground. He was covered in blood. His nose looked to be broken and he was grunting in pain.
Self doubt and anger filled the young jedi.
I’m never going to win a fight, I always lose, I’m just to0 unskilled with a lightsaber!
This was his life. He had never won a single duel, and it didn’t seem as if it would ever change. He was too clumsy and weak. The young jedi had nothing going for him, his lightsaber skills were horrible and so were his skills with the force.
I’m going to get kicked out of the academy if I keep fighting like this!
Tears streamed down the boys face, but he did not make a single sound, nor did he show anyone his tears.
“Dieter.” Said a voice from above the boy.
The boy wiped his tears, concealing them instead with the blood that was running from his scalp. He got up, at least he tried to, he fell back down again.
A strong hand grabbed the jedi under the arm and pulled him up.
“Dieter, you fought better today.” It was a boy his age that spoke.
“You’re lying to me.” Dieter spoke back, he hesitated for a moment, “…How do you do it?.. How does everyone get so much better than me?”
“Hmmmm…Well…Just find what you’re good at and then practice that.”
Dieter was going to say that he wasn’t good at anything, but then decided against it. “Okay. Thanks.”
The other boy brought Dieter back to the medication ward, where he was set down on one of the bed to be healed.
“See you Dieter. If you practice enough I bet you can beat me next time we spar.”
“I hope so, see you.” Dieter said.
As the other jedi left, a healing robot wheeled over to Dieter. It spoke in a metallic voice, “Please keep still, I am injecting you with a sedative.”
Dieter did as it asked and he felt a pinching sensation deep in his shoulder. The next thing he knew, he had passed out.
WHEN DIETER WOKE up, he found himself to be fully clean and exuberant with energy. He pulled all the medical devices attached to him off and jumped out of bed. Despite the healing robot’s protests, Dieter ran away to the training ground. He had to practice his lightsaber skills more if he wanted to stay in the academy.
When he reached the training ground, there were hundreds of padawans and jedis-in-training practicing. The training ground was massive, it was a square mile gymnasium of all sorts of obstacle courses, practicing bots, coordination tests, and sparring pits. He found himself a spot with a sparring bot.
The sparring bot would attack him slowly at first but gain speed as Dieter blocked or successfully hit the bot. Dieter went a grabbed a practice blade. They were basically wooden sticks that looked like lightsabers.
He got back to the sparring bot and whacked it, the bot turned on. It swung at dieter who blocked it easily, he then whacked the bot again, and he visibly noticed it get faster.
Dieter was only able to last about a minute and a half with the bot before he was cracked on the head by the sparring bot. He fell roughly on the ground. He sat there on his knees for a while looking disappointedly at his hands Why am I so weak!? He looked over his shoulder at another jedi-in-training, they had been going for at least ten minutes by now. The bot was whipping its hands as fast as possible at the other boy, who was blocking each one with perfection.
One of the problems Dieter had was that he wasn’t strong enough, all the other padawans were body-builders compared to him. He was skinny and tall, whereas the rest were short and strong. No matter how much Dieter trained, he was always weaker than everyone else.
Dieter’s mind was aching with grief. He had been hit again and again with the idea that he would never be good enough. All he had to do was train, if only he trained more, if only he trained harder! These were the thoughts that consumed Dieters mind. He was always looking to train more. Every second of his free time was devoted to training, and yet, he was still the worst with his skills.
There has to be something I’m not doing right!
Dieter was enraged. He wanted so badly to improve, but his body would not let him. Maybe if his his body would not let him, his mind would.
He set his practice blade down and walked hastily to the library.
The library was massive, what seemed like billions of books were shelved on the walls. There were books about every single subject you would ever want. Dieter walked over to the strategy section and started picking out books.
He read for hours and hours. The time flew by as he engrossed himself in the books, he read about all sorts of battle tactics and lightsaber forms. Annoyingly, there was a thought itching at the back of his brain, all throughout his readings. Every time he looked at a lightsaber form he would see a problem in it, but he could not figure out what.
He only figured it out when he read a line of the text, it said “A Jedi’s greatest ally is his lightsaber, if he cannot use this well then he will lose most of his battles.”
In his mind something clicked, and with it a thousand new thoughts flat-out sprinted into his mind. He began to think at double speed, picking out fallacies and falsehoods in the statements and Jedi texts.
Dieter became exuberant with his findings, he tried to think of any possible detriment to this new idea. He could find none.
He looked back at the passage, “A Jedi’s greatest ally is his lightsaber.” That isn’t true he thought to himself. A Jedi’s greatest ally is the Force!
Maybe it seemed like an obvious remark to others, but to Dieter, it was if his entire world had shifted upside down. He ran the statement through his head again and again. He thought of all the lightsaber techniques he had just learned, every single one of them could be countered by the Force.
Just then his mind exploded. He deduced that he didn’t need to study or train at lightsaber technique, all he had to train in was the Force. If he became truly exceptional at lightsaber skills, someone who was good at the Force could still beat him, but if he was truly exceptional at his Force skills, then no one could beat him.
He stood up abruptly, he looked at the time. 9 O’clock. He still had time to train.
Not bothering to put away his books, he hurriedly ran down the halls, back to the training ground.
HE TRAINED FOR hours and hours and hours. He didn’t sleep for 30 hours afterwards. He skipped all of his lightsaber classes and instead practiced in the training ground. His training regimen consisted of using the Force in various different ways. He stacked rocks, tried to keep as many in the air at one time, and tried throwing things as hard as possible with the force.
There were no noticeable changes at first, but at he continued, he slowly began to be able to endure more and more. He got plenty of weird looks from other padawans. Many came to ask him why he had been training for so long.
He didn’t tell them the answer directly, but he knew it. Before, he had been training without motivation, however hard he had tried he had always come short of his goals. He appeared to be stagnant with his abilities. But now, he had a path set in front of him. He knew what to do and how to do it. He was sure of what to do to get good now.
AFTER TRAINING, DAY and night for weeks on end. Dieter began to notice considerable changes.
For once in his life, he was good at something. Being able to focus solely on the force allowed him to excel at it. He devoted every second of his time to training. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner he scarfed down his food and promptly ran to the training grounds.
Other padawans began to regard Dieter as crazy. Dieter was fanatical about training, far more than anyone else. Those who talked to Dieter were slightly put off by his hurried nature, they figured he would rather be training than talking to him.
One day, when Dieter was training in the force, a Jedi knight came to him.
“Dieter, where have you been?” The Jedi asked.
Dieter looked up from the hundreds of rocks he had been levitating at once, as he did, about half of them fell to the ground.
“Master! What are you doing here?”
“Where have you been Dieter? You haven’t shown up to any spars in the last few days! You realize you are this close to being kicked out from the academy!” The Jedi Knight spoke.
“What! I’ve been training Master, I’ve figured something out—“
“Dieter, this does not matter right now! I will not allow you waste away and get kicked out.” The Jedi said.
“Master, I have been training in the Force. I have finally gotten good at something!” said Dieter.
“Thats good, but make sure to show up to your sparring matches. This is not in question.” He said firmly.
“Yes, Master.”
“Good.” The Jedi Knight began to walk away, but suddenly came back. “Oh, and Dieter.”
“Yes Master?”
“You’re being assigned to a mission in 3 days. Make sure to report to the equipment bay at 0600.”
“Yes Master, I will be there.”
THE DAYS PASSED, and Dieter got better and better. In about three months amount of training completed in two weeks, Dieter was able to lift about 500 rocks simultaneously.
He had to complete a sparring match, he lost. Although, he didn’t try hard at all. He wanted to get back to training as fast as he could. He trained for the rest of the day and then woke up at 5:30 AM to do his mission. He dressed into his robes and then left his room.
He walked down the halls to the equipment bay. He arrived five minutes early and saw three other padawans and a Jedi Knight. Dieter went to grab a blaster off the wall, unlike many Jedi, he always grabbed one in case he lost his lightsaber. He fit it into his robe pocket and turned to the other Jedi.
“You bringin a blaster?” One of the asked.
“Yeah.” Dieter said, he then turned to the Jedi Knight “What’s the mission?”
“We are infiltrating a Geonosian base and eliminating a political leader. His name is Charles Addams, he’s been smuggling weapons to Malnogsnia to fuel the Civil War.” He said, and then pointed to a datacard. “More details are in the briefing.”
Dieter grabbed it and began to read, it seemed pretty simple, but it would be moderately difficult.
Fifteen minutes later they left the equipment room and headed towards the docking bay. The Jedi Knight went to his personal ship and each padawan doubled up on co-piloting ships.
Dieter swung himself into a ship with a padawan named Joseph, he was sixteen and extremely muscled.
Dieter was a rather bad flyer but he still did everything along with Joseph. They ran through the pre-flight inspection.
“Landing gear is check. Blasters are check.” Dieter said.
“So are the anti-hijacking, autopilot, and hyperspace systems.” Joseph said.
Joseph spoke into the microphone, “This is red-two, we are go for takeoff.”
A takeoff surveyor greenlighted their flight and opened the dock doors. The massive sliding panels moved apart to reveal the void of space. Dieter stared dreamily at the beautiful scene. He always loved looking at space.
“Beautiful isn’t it.” Joseph said.
“It really is.” Said Dieter.
They both stared at the vastness of the sight, the millions of different purple and white galaxies in view, and the billions and billions of stars.
“Alright, lets takeoff.” Joseph said.
They each had their own individual interface that controlled the ship, the results were averaged out at a mathematic ratio calculated on the flying skills of the co-pilots. They both pressed a series of buttons on their interfaces and pushed their steering handle up. The ship shuddered upwards. They then pushed the handle forward and the ship drifted ahead into space.
The docking bay disappeared from view as they entered space, and black overtook their entire fields of view.
“Lets hit it to hyperspace.” Said Dieter.
Joseph spoke into the microphone, “This is red-two, requesting to enter hyperspace.”
They waited for a reply. The Jedi Knight spoke into the radio, “Permission granted, proceed at will.”
They both pressed another series of buttons and pushed a knob to the correct label.
“1834.8449 lightyears isn’t it?” Joseph asked.
“I believe so.” Answered Dieter. He entered the number and the ship calculated and corrected any mistakes they may have made.
A metallic voice spoke from the ship, “Proceed to hyperspace.”
Both Dieter and Joseph pressed another button and their entire vision was overcome with light.
The stars which had previously appears stationary blurred across the space sky. A million beams of light filled their vision and reflected off the different dials and knobs.
Dieter felt his body become lighter, hyperspace was always uncomfortable, his insides were thrown backwards in his body. The whirring of the ship overtook Dieter’s ears. He began to taste blood in his mouth, a common effect of hyperspace.
Glimpses of nebulae and galaxies were visible as they shot past their vision. The star beams appeared to be swirling around.
All of the sudden, the lights in sky went out. They had arrived at their destination. There was now a titanic planet in front of the ship. It was being illuminated by a distant sun coming from the left. The planet was a ugly, dirty brownish-red. But despite this, seeing a planet from space always left Dieter jaw-dropped.
They swiftly went to land on the planet. The dirty planet swallowed their eyes as they came closer to land on it. When they got into the atmosphere, dust made up every inch of the air. The clouds of dust swirled and danced, carefree. The ship had to quadruple its jet output to combat the gravity. The blasting of the ship fires made their ears ring.
They came closer to the ground and a distant speck was visible. It was gray and shiny, as they approached it, it turned out to be a federal outpost. The ship shuddered in the air and one of the jets whirred even harder to readjust the position.
Dieter rattled in his seat as they got within a hundred meters of the compound. A landing pad already had two ships landed, the Jedi Knight and the other co-pilot ship. They approached it and and the ship dropped the last few inches with a massive thud.
The engines ceased and they could finally hear again. The cockpits opened and both Dieter and Joseph clambered out and onto the ground. Dieter stood on the landing pad, the gravity felt nearly the same as coruscant. Dieter hopped up into the air to test it out, he fell down at the same speed he normally would have.
“We’re going to split into two groups” said the Jedi Knight, “I’ll be with Warren. Carl, Dieter, and Jonathan, you’ll be together. Warren and I will look for the overlook room, this is likely where Charles Addams is. Carl, Dieter, Jonathan you will be looking for the security room, it will have cameras of the outpost and a map that can lead us to Charles Addams. It is known to be on the Western half of the outpost.”
“There shouldn’t be but two guards, but if anyone needs help, use the comm system.” He added. “Let’s go now.”
Dieter and the other two walked into the left door, it opened automatically. The walls of the outpost were a shiny, bright gray, but there was also a lingering effect of brown on everything, likely from the near infinite amount of dirt and dust outside.
All three of them walked silently, clutching their lightsabers, until Jonathan broke the silence.
“Jedi Knight Confucius didn’t really leave us with much strategy to use. I say that Carl and I stay in the front and watch ahead. You Dieter, watch behind us, and if we’re attacked back us up.”
“Okay.” Both Carl and Dieter spoke.
They took up their positions. Carl was a very short boy, he appeared to be about 16 years old along with Jonathan and Dieter. Carl had long-ish sandy yellow hair and strong arms. His lightsaber was one of the most unique designs Dieter had ever seen. Jonathan was taller than Carl but not as musclular, he had short cut brown hair.
They walked in the hall for a while, they checked inside each door that they saw along their path. Dieter made sure to look backwards most of the time. They came across another door and Carl made to open it. He twisted and pulled on the handle, but it would not open. There was a hand scanner to the right of the door, but they didn’t need that.
Carl flicked on his lightsaber, and immediately the halls were illuminated brightly by a steady green. A low hum could be heard reverbating from the lightsaber. Carl pushed the saber through the door, the metal turned a scalding orange and ran down the door. Carl moved the lightsaber in a circle and reconnected to where he had started. He quickly pulled his lightsaber out and stepped back. The roughly cut out circle of the door dropped to the floor a loud clang that echoed thoughout the halls.
They stepped over the hot orange liquid on the floor and through the hole in the door. Inside the room was the security room they were looking for. Luckily there was no one in it.
There was a massive wall full of moniters, each of them had a number assigned to it and a video showing what was happening in real time. There was also a map of the outpost stuck to the wall. There were only three monitors that had people in them. The first had Charles Addams and a mass of body guards, he was in the overlook room, just like the Jedi Knight had guessed. The second was full of a bloody mess of Geonosions. Body parts were plastered on the walls and the floor. Blood was oozing out of the corpses and limbs of the dead Geonosions. But that did not scare them anywhere near the next camera.
“No!” Yelled Jonathan, stunned.
The blood ran out of Dieter’s face.
Carl was petrified, his eyes were wide. He muttered under his breath.
Dieter looked at the monitor. It showed the dead bodies of Warren and Jedi Knight Confuscius. Red blood seeped out of their bodies. Their lightsabers lay on the floor a few yards away from both of them. Smoking holes could be seen in both of their corpes. They had each been barraged with laser fire. A red mist lay over the scene, steaming blood. Blood gushed and gushed out of the infinite holes in their bodies. Dieter could hear the heavy breathing of both the other padawans. He couldn’t take his eyes off the scene. Jedi Knight Confuscius had fallen over forward, the now red floor could be seen through his chest. A single hand of his was visible, his other hand had been blown to bits. But the scene of Warren was far too much to take in. His lifeless face was clearly visible. Blood covered his neck up to his chin and ears. His eyes were dull and ashy, it was as if no one had ever lived inside of this body.
Dieter was sweating bullets, frozen with fear. He could hear something pulsing inside his ears. His hands were clenched as hard as possible, there was sweat welling there already. Something tasted horrible, he felt like he was going to throw up.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t tear his eyes from the image. He couldn’t stop looking at the limp bodies.
Who could do such a thing!
Fiery anger welled up within him. He was fuming. His breathing became heavy, it felt like smoke was billowing from his body. He grit his teeth.
His shaking hand went to his lightsaber. I’ll avenge them! He pulled the lightsaber out from his belt.
Loathing filled Dieter’s very existence, he looked over to the screen that showed Charles Addams, he was laughing animatedly. Slapping his knee. Dieter looked at him with disgust and hate that sourced from the sourced from the deepest part of Dieter.
Dieter tore his eyes from the monitors. He looked over to Jonathan and Carl. Jonathan was sitting and staring blankly at the floor, his knuckles were white with how hard he was gripping his knees. Carl was still staring at the bloody scene on the monitors. Dieter took his sweaty hand and placed it on Carl’s shoulder.
“Carl.” Dieter said.
He looked over at him. None of them knew what to say. The silence stretched out longer and longer. Dieter gripped his lightsaber harder.
“We have to avenge them.” Dieter said to Jonathan and Carl. “We have to go kill that fucker.” He pointed menacingly at Charles Addams.
“Let’s do it.” Jonathan said, a determined look in his eyes. “We know where he is now… Let’s kill him.”
They walked down the halls as fast as they could. Dieter didn’t know if it felt like an hour or a second. But before he knew it he was at the door of the overlook room.
Rage and determination fueled Dieter. Without a second thought, all three of them marched into the overlook room.
For a second no one noticed them, but they did as Jonathan sliced off the head of a Geonosion. Bloody mist flew into the air. Carl thrust his lightsaber straight into another Geonosion and blood exploded out of its chest.
About twelve Geonosion blasters turned on them. Without another second’s hesitation, blaster fire filled every square inch of the room. The acidic smell of the lasers cutting through the air singed Dieter’s nose. Carl and Jonathan deflected all of the lasers that came their way. Jonathan even managed to whip his lightsaber right through the arm of a Geonosion.
Dieter wanted with all of his heart to run at the Geonosions with his lightsaber, but he knew he would certainly die if he did that. Instead, he hid behind an edge of a wall and resorted to doing what he was good at, using the force. Jonathan and Carl had their hands tied deflecting all of the blaster fire, and with it a Geonosion snuck behind the two of them. He raised his hand to fire at the back of Carl’s head. He pulled the trigger.
Dieter used all his might to swivel the Geonosions arm, so that instead of being pointed at Carl. It was pointed at another Geonosion. The green laser was concealed within what seemed like a thousand other lasers already in the air. But the effects of it were certainly not concealed.
A Geonosion’s head burst into a billion pieces, blood sprayed his comrades. His body collapsed to the ground, but the thud was never heard over the laserfire.
The Geonosion who had shot shrieked in confusion. He could no longer control his arm. Dieter aimed the arm at another Geonosion, and he had to use extreme precision to force the Geonosions finger back.
The laser ripped through the air, but missed it’s target. Dieter moved the arm to the left and pulled back the finger again. The laser not only pierced through the air this time. It mutiliated the shoulder of yet another Geonosion. It’s arm went limp at its side and it shrieked and shrieked in pain. It seemed the other Geonosions had finally caught on, two of them had diverted their fire from Jonathan and Carl, instead to the Geonosion firing at them. Three drums of lasers sounded off and ripped apart the body of the Geonosion. Blood flew backwards onto Dieter, and the body of the Geonosion folded in on itself.
Jonathan and Carl used the chance when there was less lasers focused on them to kill two more Geonosions. Jonathan kicked one back and rammed his lightsaber all the way through the arm and halfway through the chest of another Geonosion, causing blood to pour out of the corpse. Carl cut deep into the skull of another and shards of the shattered skull flew the air.
Half of the Geonosions were dead now. Dieter looked past the wall of blaster fire and saw Charles Addams cowering the furthest corner of the room, he was unable to get to the only exit. Jonathan and Carl were deflecting lasers at inhuman speeds, and with it they took baby steps towards the remaining Geonosions every second.
Dieter ammassed a thousand tons worth of force inside him. He felt as if his feet were being lifted off the ground. He focused as hard as he could on one of the Geonosions. Dieter swept his arms to the right and the Geonosion went flying into the air, his arms flailing. The Geonosion’s path connected straight with the lasers in the air. In an instant, its body imploded and tore a thousand different ways, its blood was transformed into steam and when it crashed to the ground there was a cloud of misty blood in the air. The corpse was billowing smoke and the scaly skin of the Geonosion was melting before Dieter’s eyes.
The Geonosions finally noticed Dieter. Two of them turned to face their blasters at Dieter. Dieter threw one Geonosion over near Jonathan and Carl, but he didn’t look to see what had happened. The other Geonosion was firing laser after laser at Dieter.
He used what felt like all the energy in him to stop the lasers midair. What had been blurred beams of light in the air were now stationary lasers, they cast a speedily flickering green light on the room. Six lasers were unmoving the air, only a few inches from Dieters face.
Dieter outstretched arms shook heavily, he was using all his energy just to keep those lasers in the air. Sweat trickled down his face. He felt an itch building on his nose, but he couldn’t put his hands down. It was agony. His entire body was aching with the pain of just keeping those lasers in the air. He kept his eyes transfixed on the laser, not wanting to lose his focus. But in the corner of his eye, he saw the Geonosion who had his head blown apart. That was what would happen to Dieter if he didn’t keep the lasers where they were. The sound of six humming and buzzing lasers was all he heard. He hardly noticed his surroundings. All he felt was the torture of keeping the flickering lights in the air. The smell of the lasers singed his nose, they had been in the air for long enough that the smell was getting worse and worse. The smell was so bad that he began to taste it, the strong fiery acidic taste burnt his mouth and only added to his torment. He was sweating even more than before, it began to well into his eyes, causing them to burn. But he couldn’t blink, he didn’t want to die. His arms shook violently, he wouldn’t last much longer. But then he realized, he didn’t hear any laser fire anymore. He didn’t dare take his eyes off the lasers but in his peripheral he saw movement.
It was Joseph.
“Dieter, crouch down and then let go of the lasers.” He told Dieter.
Dieter did it. He bent his knees down as fast as he dared, trying to keep as much attention on the lasers as possible. He kept his arms outstretched to the lasers and lowered himself to his knees. His body throbbed and stabs of pain started to come every other second. When he was low enough on the ground, he finally let go of the force.
The lasers whooshed by, like a bat out of hell. One, two, three, four, five, six. Each laser collided with the wall and echoed loudly.
Dieter could have cried out of relief, but instead he passed out.
HE ONLY PASSED out for a couple seconds. Jonathan was shaking him awake.
He layed on a blood filled floor. The remaining Geonosions had been killed, each of them sported lost limbs and slices. Blood gushed out of all the bodies on the ground.
Dieter got to his feet gradually, he was shaking all over.
“That was an impressive use of the force.” Jonathan said not looking at Dieter, instead he was looking at something in the corner of the room. Dieter couldn’t tell his vision was blurred.
“Come you’ll want to see this.” Said Jonathan.
They walked over to the corner. Carl was there and although Dieter still couldn’t see well, he could tell that Carl’s left hand was bloody and mangled. His right hand was holding a lightsaber to Charles Addams, who lay sprawled on the floor, whimpering. Both of his hands had been sliced off.
“He kept fighting, so I did that to make him stop.” Said Carl.
As Dieter’s vision began to come back, he could make out the details of the scene better. The soft green and blue glow coming from Carl and Jonathan’s lightsabers, were illuminating the scene. They reflected off the shiny, bloody stumps of wrists that Charles Addams had. He also saw the injury that Carl had, three of his fingers had been blown off, and blood was steadily flowing out of his hand and splashing onto the floor.
“What happened Carl?” Dieter asked worried, pointing to his hand.
“This motherfucker took one of the Geonosion’s guns and shot my fingers off!” Carl snarled.
Charles Addams whimpered and moaned in pain, he let out a raspy breath.
“And you fucking CHOPPED MY HANDS OFF!” Charles Addams hollered, outraged.
“You shut your goddamn mouth!” Yelled Carl. “I’ll chop your head off too!”
Carl raised his lightsaber and was about to strike. Charles Addams flinched and shut his eyes.
“Carl!” Yelled Jonathan. “You can’t kill him. It’s not the Jedi way!”
“What do you mean it’s not the Jedi way! He killed a Jedi Knight and a padawan!” Bellowed Carl.
Jonathan half-heartedly said, “He doesn’t have a weapon, we aren’t allowed to kill him.”
Carl was smoking with anger.
“That doesn’t mean I don’t want to kill him so bad.” Jonathan added, “It’s just… We can’t.”
“Why because he doesn’t have a weapon!” Yelled Carl.
“… Yes.” Said Jonathan.
“He doesn’t have a weapon because I chopped his hands off because he was trying to kill us!” Carl yelled.
“I… I… Just don’t… Okay… Okay, let’s kill this bastard.” Said Jonathan.
All the color drained out of Charles Addam’s face.
“No, No, NO! Don’t kill me! I have valuable information!” Charles Addams yelled desperately. “Just don’t kill me. Listen, LISTEN!”
But it was to late for him. Carl was determined, he was inflamed with rage. Carl raised his lightsaber, and in one clean slice, Charles Addams head fell the floor with a splat that shook Dieter to his core. Charles Addam’s head rolled away and his body thudded to the floor, blood gushing out.
Carl stepped back absentmindedly, his face was blank, but his face was chalk white. He muttered something, and his face slowly began to morph into distress.
“Oh my… Oh my god… What did I do… What have I done…” He stammered.
Carl’s hands were shaking and he couldn’t peel his eyes off the dead body, he gulped.
“It will be fine Carl.” Said Dieter. “The Jedi will understand… Let’s go.”
Carl didn’t take his eyes off the corpse, so Jonathan put his hand on his shoulder and steered him away. The three of them walked out of the blood filled room, stepping over bodies and limbs as the did. As they left the room, they left footprints of blood on the floor.
The three of them went to the spot where Confuscius and Walter had died. Both Jonathan and Dieter took off their cloaks and wrapped the bodies in them. Jonathan picked up Jedi Knight Confuscius and Carl picked up Walter.
They walked out of the compound without saying a word. Dieter couldn’t think of anything else, but what had just happened. The gore and horrible death was all he could think about.
Everything went so fast, they reached the landing pad in no time. They stowed the bodies in the cargo bay of the co-piloting ship. Carl and Dieter both got into the same co-piloting ship, and Jonathan got into Jedi Knight Confuscius’s ship.
It was a lonely trip back to the Jedi base. Dieter didn’t even enjoy looking at the beauty of space. He was too focused on what had just happened instead.
