AFTER VISION (FIRST STORY NOT DONE)

I suddenly felt something… something like being alive. What was this? Why does this feel so weird? And what is that crying noise? This all felt so weird I’ve never felt this… alive.  I felt like a whole new person. Wait, and who was I. And could someone PLEASE STOP THAT CRYING NOISE!

Rewritten Version of the rough draft!

So, hello. My name is Lynch 4392. And, yes my last name is 4392. Yeah, pretty boring. Actually, not pretty boring, VERY boring. Well, I shouldn’t dwell too long on my last name, no matter how horrible it is, because I have more important things to say.

First, I am a clone, and not a very good one. The thing is… I’m an aberration, which means that I’m different from other clones, and not just a little different, very different. Instead of the standard stark black hair, well built body, and strong jawline. I had brownish-black hair, that spiked up instead of laying down flat. I was scrawny, mostly in the legs though, they were really scrawny. Other clones actually called me “chicken legs,” I thought it was a pretty weak insult though. But, my appearence was just the tip of the iceburg. I somehow resulted in messing up every time I spar. That’s mostly due to my overly large hands. Everytime I go to block a strike or attack, the sword slips out of my hands. Yeah, not very convenient.

Second, I am twelve years old and my brithday’s tomorrow, I won’ t be having any parties thought. But, the important part is that once you turn thirteen you get transferred to a new outpost, for me I’m going to Jaggo. Which is basically the biggest building you’ll ever see.

Well, anyway that’s me, just your average weirdo.

Well right now I’m spraweld up in the corner of an attic. Listening to a live podcast on my wristcom.

“This day, today, we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the cloning enterprise. Where we ceased all Human business and replaced them with clones. The last shipment of humans was delivered on May 23, 3048. Where they were executed for the sake of the world. The cloning enterprise was the first step into winning this war. In the beginning, the 3 other nations arose indeed, much faster than us. The Cybernets, they were once part of our unified nation but they started a Civil War and broke away. They ultimately formed their own country, and they now use their brain and robotic power to rocket up in strength and power. The Couternicusuliium, the Aliens that invaded our once blessed Earth. They terrorized our world until the nations together oppressed them into North America. And from the ashes of that forsaken place, (North America), the Vanguards arose. They migrated to South America and soon grew in size and power. Then there are us… We were crippled when the Cybernets abandoned us. They took most of our men, most of our weapons, most of everything. We had to snatch back men to join our military; we eventually started regaining our place in the war. Then the Four Impossibles arose, one from each great nation. They strived to bring peace to the nations… In the grimmest possible way. They obliterated everything. We once again were left in the ashes. That's when we started our clone enterprise, when us The Crone started winning this war!”

I turned off the projecter coming from my wrist. The AeroLevel Convoy was leaving in two minutes, I started getting up until I noticed a small disk, in the corner of the room. I got up and shuffled over to it, it read The Golden Flame.  It looked like a wristcom game so I picked it up. I looked at it more closely, engraved on it was a dragon with flames roaring from it mouth.  It looked pretty cool so I decided I would play it on the AeroLevel Convoy.

“Oh shoot, it’s leaving.” I looked down at my wristcom it read 11:59.

I rushed out of the old attic, ran down a couple sets of stairs, then rushed out the front doors. I peered around for the train. I saw it, it was making a head out of the station. I bolted towards the offgoing convoy.

I made it just in time, right as the convoy started turning to the left I pounced and grasped onto a bar at the back of the train. The train started picking up speed, leaving me being pulled maniacally through the air. It bounced me up and down. I used all my strength to lift myself up. Meraculously, I found power to do it. I heaved myself over the ledge.

I lay flat on the floor, my breathing was heavier than ever, I probably sounded pretty funny, panting like a dog.

The back door suddenly opened, I looked up it was Arden 4302. I looked up it was my arch nemesis, or at least as much of an arch nemesis you can get at this age.

“If it isn’t chicken legs.” He taunted cracking his knuckles.

I burst out laughing, “Really… Really… Out of all the insults, you choose ‘Chicken Legs.”

He stared at me with a suprised look on his face, I got up and shoved past him. Inside the convoy was a vast hall with lots of rooms, each with many compartments. I strode past several rooms, they had seats in a U formation, all forming around a single table in the middle. Each of these rooms housed around five to ten people each. I didn’t know how I was going to find an empty room. But to my luck, about halfway past the whole convoy I found an empty room. I opened the doors, inside was a nice cozy seat, just what I needed. But, first I had to put away my luggage. I opened the largest compartment there was, it was at the foot of the table. I was about to pull out all my stuff, when…

“Wait! Where’s my stuff!” I shouted frantically.

Then suddenly like a brick, I realized that I didn’t have anything with me. I had left it all at my old outpost. I had forgotten it in the rush to get in the AeroLevel Convoy.  Well at least I got my wristcom, I thought to myself. I felt like an idiot I left all of my stuff. Why did I have to go to the attic.

I thought I would try out that new game I had found. I took the disk out of my pocket and stuck it into the port on the top of my wristcom. It loaded for a couple seconds than a screen showed up it was projected through my watch as usual, but the odd thing was that it was in color, rather than the usual blue.

It turned out to be a pretty fun game, except for the fact that I got all the way to the last level then died. I got pretty mad, but I just restarted at the begining again. I then worked my way back up to the last level then died… again. And, this time I got considerably more mad than the first time. After that I pledged to never play another video game. But, naturally, after around ten minutes I started playing again. This time I finally won, it was in perfect timing too. We started pulling into the station right when I won. I cheered loudly, thankfully I don’t think anyone heard it.

Well, on the upside I dont have to worry about carrying out all of my stuff. I thought to myself

I sat up from the cahir, people wer already filtering out into the isles, I though I would get a head start so I stepped out into the isle. I wanted to get out fast before people started targeting me as both the abberation and the person who jumped onto the back of the train. I could feel the staring as soon as I started walking down the isles, it started to get a little overwhelming so I decided I would sprint. I rushed through train cart after train cart, untill i finally made it to the end.

I was the first one out, I looked up, and what stood before me was the largest building I had ever seen before. If you can imagine, it was your typical skyscraper. Except for the fact that it’s at least a hundred times taller. The clouds in the sky concealed the top. I stood there for a couple seconds staring, amazed at the beauty before me.

“Move.” Someone shoved me from behind.

“Oh, sorry…” I said awkwardly.

I moved from the entrance to the bus. I stepped out onto a glossy floor.  I looked down, embedded on it was a bluish gray pattern. They looked like bricks but were far too smooth to be bricks. Nearly everyone from the bus was off now. Then soomeone called.

“Hello, hello, to all the new omers today.” I turned around to face the bus, the man who called it was a bored looking man with short brown hair. He looked around thirty years old. “Once you guys are ready head through those door right there,” He pointed to a set of double doors, “go straight about fifty feet then turn right.”

I could tell they were trying to hustle things up. They probably wanted lots more trained clones for the war. I wanted to get this first day over with, things were’nt going to well, so I headed through the door.

I followed his instructinos exactly, which led me to an armory. INside was lots of armor and weapons, mostly swords and stuff of that sort. I immidiately grab armor and a the biggest sword I can find. I am glad to see that it fits my hand.

More and more clones start coming into the room. Soon all of them are sitting on benches. Through the doors comes a man with short tightly combed  gray hair.

“Hello and welcome, I am an admiral in the Crone,” I looked down at his body, he was wearing a black and white suit, which all admirals wore, “as you may know you are about to have your testing battle. Your performance in this will alter the faction you are appointed to.”

“But, I will warn you the group you are facing is one of the name of The Black Scorpion,” He continued on, “they are what a normal group performs at, maybe at the level of a faction 250. So now, get ready!”

They gathered up their gear. I just sat on a bench staring at the ground, I was thinkng about the oncoming figut. Once they were all ready, another door opened. In there was the most colossal training ring he had ever seen, it was at least twice as large as the ones in his old outpost. The training ring glowed white then a voice was projected throughout the ring.

“Choosing a random section.”

The white glow was now replaced with red. The ring parted and moved to the edges, and up came a forest covered in snow. It finally reached ground level and the ring boomed from the speakers…

“Prepare for battle in 3… 2… 1……………… Fight…”

At the other side of the ring, another group in black armor started charging forward. The new clones immediately congregated. I rushed to the center of the mass.

One of the clones with a big scar on his cheek stepped into the center. “Ok, guys I think we should go and rush them.”

There were lots of agreement to these words, but I thought otherwise.

“No,” I shuffled nervously, “We should stay on the defense. Maybe V-formation?”

Lots of murmuring accompanied my words.

“Yeah. Yeah. That’s a good idea.” One clone remarked, “You can tell by their armor that they're an offensive faction.”

“Yeah that’s right” another clone nodded agreeably, “They’ve got a lighter chest pads which gives them an advantage at running.”

“Let's use the V-formation!”  I shouted, “We already know we need to use the defensive.”

“Who are we to take orders from an aberration?!” Someone shouted menacingly.

“Come on guys they're getting closer!” Another clone cautioned.

Llynch looked over his shoulder they were indeed getting dangerously close.

“Let’s just use the V-formation!” Another clone said after a moment’s reflection at the oncoming enemies.

“GET IN FORMATION!” The clone in the middle seemed to decide it was better to act now then discuss further.

Everyone scurried around into a giant v. I shuffled around so I was near the back of the group. Once they were all where they were meant to be, the formation looked pretty solid. The outside of the battlefield was the most foremost group, as you move towards the center the formation moves back, forming a big v. Which gives a big advantage to the defenders.

All the while The Black Scorpion inched towards the newcomers. They were getting closer and closer. There were lots of nervous movements from the clones. The Black Scorpion was now twenty meters away.

“READY UP!” The clone in the center bellowed.

At these words, the comrades in the front raised their spears. The innermost soldiers tensed up, focusing more on the oncoming soldiers. Every eye was focused on the Black Scorpion’s. They were now only 5 meters away… 3… 1… They clashed straight into the newcomers.

The Scorpions dominated in battle. In the first twenty seconds, the whole front line was overtaken. I was engulfed with nervousness. Meanwhile, the Scorpions still crept up. I readied up pointing the blade towards the oncomers. They were getting closer...closer...closer. Finally, they burst through the lines. One rushed to me.

He cast I strike, and I sidled out of the way just in time. The blade knicked my arm, which started bleeding painfully. He cast another strike, I sidled away again, which missed me completely.

I was starting to get the hang of this... Dodge the sword.

He swung down his sword and I caught it my own. We were stuck momentarily until he kicked me in my knee, I collapsed unto the floor.

I couldn’t get up in time. Saw him swing up his sword again. He was about to slash down. I screwed up my eyes waiting for the pain to come. But, it never did. I looked up, he wasnt there.

I shakily stood up and peered around. THere he was, on the ground with a decent sized dent in his helmet.

Another Black Scorpion soldiers rushed forward. But, I was ready. He swung his sword up, and I caught him in the stomach.

The sword slid straight through his body. He fell to the ground as if he was dead. But, that’s the thing with clones, ypy can’t get killed by practice swords. They just knock you out.

I stared at the body, I knew he wasn’t dead, but it just felt so weird. I had never overcome anybody in a battle. Never.
