RON vs GASPARD (my take on it)

i tried matching thetruespartan's style here tot he best of my ability (lot's of dialogue, lots of direct thoughts, sparse description).

this is based off the premise that pk briefly spoke about, of gaspard attacking at the train to hogwarts.

GASPARD POV

gaspard sat on the bench in the train station. he couldnt help but smile with excitement. he was go he had been waiting for this momnt for so long. and now it was finally coming.

the train station had filled up with students. no one payed him much attention.

he spotted a family of read hari. he frowned and sniffed the air. his stench is not here. he didn't com with his family then? he stood and looked them over. ronald wasn't rher. a crowd had quickly formed around the weasley family. he heard snipets of the conversation

"--is he here?!"

"Where is he--?"

"What do you mean he didn't come with you guys?"

Sirius Black stepped up to the crowd. "No, he's not here. Now, if you don't mind we have to get on the train."

gaspard's eyes filled with bloodlust at the sight of sirius. he remembered their last fight, how he had ripped gaspard's throat out. if ronald doesn't kill me today, i'll make sure to murder him. cheap animagus tricks won't work twice.

he spotted a younger weasley duaghetr off on her own. she had been pulled aside by a younger mousy-looking boy with brown hair. he held a camera in his hands and was excitedly chattering away.

gaspa prowled up to her from behind, making sure to stay out of the order member's visions.

"--Well, I was wondering if I could get a picture. My parents can't come trhoguh the barrier, but I wnat to get some more picuters of him for them."

"I don't know where he is ... he might not even be coming." She sounded annoyed.

"Well, if you do see him, can you find me?"

"Sure." she huffed.

"Thanks!" Colin said. "I've gotta get on the train. You want to sit in my compartment?"

"Er, I was thinking I'd sit win Harry's actually ..."

"Ok, great! I'll sit with you guys."

"OK, sure."

Colin truned away with a friendly smile at that. And Gaspard crept closer. She didnt't notice him.

"Ginevra Weasley," he said.

She turned around, annoyed. "Yes? Is this about Ron? I have no clue if he's coming, like I've already said." Her brow furrowed. "Wait, how do you know my name?"

He ignored her question. "HOw does it feel to be the sister of a Revenant?"

She scoffed. "How would I know? Ron's no revenant."

HE smiled wihtout shwing his teeth, gentle. "No, he is not. But he is clever. Very clever. And in the eyes of the people, he may as well be the revenant."

She shrugged. "If you say so."

"You come here. You see your friends. But do they see you?"

"What are you talking about?"

"They don't see YOU . they see athe sister of the revenant. they only see him. that boy, your friend, came up to you, and the all he asked about was HIM. he didn't spare a single question for you."

She scowled. "What do you know about it? Who even are you?"

"It's obvious once you look, isn't it? but the thing is, so few in the world care to look for ginevra weasley, as they are so busy looking for the revenant."

she looked at him warily. "you don't know what you're talking about."

"do you know why they look for ronald weasley? why they worship his name in the streets?"

"... Becasue he gives them hope?"

"Why does he give them hope?"

"He does lots of good things ..."

"Why can he do such 'good things'?"

"I don't know," she said with exhasperation. "Because he cares, because he wants to, because he's smart."

Gaspard smiled slowly. "Yes. But more than being 'smart'. He is STRONG. he does not wait for the world to fit his vision, he bends it to his will. that is what makes him strong. and the weak will always look toward the strong."

Gaspard continued. "So i give you a piece of advice. Cut them off. those who cannot possibly fathom true strengh. people like that boy you were talking to. they see ronald and try to cling to that strength because they possess none of their own. when they see you, they see the phantom of ronald and cannot focus on anythign but him. cut them off."

"What? ... I ... No."

"they are not your friends. if they do not make you stronger, they make you weaker. they make you complacent. will you live the rest of your live under ronald weasley's shadow? or will you step up, be strong, and be your own person?"

her face was getting red with anger. "i am my own person. and they're my friends. just because they also talk about ron doesnt mean they don't see me for who i am."

"wrong. if you are to become strong, then they will see only the strength they lack. and if that happens, they will drag you down. if you are weak, you will be overshadowed by ronald's strength, and that is all they will see. you will only ever be seen by them if ronald is dead and you are weak--if you are what they are."

She opened her mouth to talk, but he kept speaking. "so there can be no hesitation, no weakness. the weak are a cancer on the soul. if you hold onto them, they will drag you down until you drown. ronald understood this. why do you think he isn't here with your family?"

"That's -- That's not true ..." She clenched her fists at her side.

"How is it not true?"

"i'm not going to cut off my friends and family--"

"i want you to choose strength. Dangerous times are coming. And if you want to survive, you must become strong. Ronald will not always be there to protect you. if you are weak, you will die."

"i would rather die weak and powerless than cut them off."

His eyes hardened. "Weak," he spat. She is not like ronald, despite sharing the same blood.

"I'm not weak. Just because i care about my--"

"Prove me wrong, then. Show your strength." He left.

GINEVRA WEASLEY POV

"ginny? who was that?" her mom asked.

"nothing," she snapped. "just another person looking for ron."

molly's brows furrowd at that. "he needs to be careful. someone could be looking to attack him again."

"i'm sure he'll be fine." ginny said with a huff.

her mother turned to her more fully. "don't take that tone with me, ginevra. did that man say somethign to you? is that why you're acting moody all the sudden."

"i'm fine."

ginny glanced at the blonde man again who was sitting on a bench watching the students. as soon as she looked at him, he smirked and turned his head to her. a shiver ran down her body and she looked away. how did he know i was looking at him?

from beside her, georeg groaned. "hes not gonna show up, is he?"

"that little prick," fred said.

"At least we'll see Ron at the start of year feast. right?" she asked.

"who knows with him. he'll probably be off on a business trip." fred said.

annoyance ran through her. why can't he just send a letter at least? why can't he show up? doesn't he know how much we want to see him? does he really think we're weak? does he think we drag him down?

she glanced over at the blonde man again. is that what ron thinks of us?

RONALD WEASLEY POV

ron walked through king's cross station. londno walked beside him scanning the crowd.

"so why aer you riding the train to school? can't you just use dumbledore's phoenix?"

"the headmaster wanted me to. says that if i'm to be a student here, it's important that i take the train like the rest."

"no offense to him, he's the headmaster and all, but is it wise for us to be out in the open? you have no lack of people after your life."

"no one would be foolish enough to attack me at train station, not with all those wizards around."

"

as soon as he entered, the people around him stopped talking immedatiely, gaping at him as if they couldn't believe what they were seeing. in their eyes there was fear, but more than that there was reverence. he felt his muscles tense at all the people looking at him. he was surrounded, so many eyes on him. he couldn't possibly stop an attack.

he scanned the crowd for any danger. padma patil

suddenly a group of red-haired people pushed thorgh the crowd. his family.

"Ron!" Ginny shouted. she ran up to him, and stopped short, unsure what to do.

His family each came up right after

"Ah, so the prince has descided to show up after all," george said.

"truly so hoonred to be in your presence, my lord." fred bowed mockingly, though his smile shwoed how excited he was to see Ron.

arthur stood in the back, looking at ron, but not meeting his eyes.

his mother hugged him tightly. "oh, ronnie! i didn't htink you'd show up. you should have sent a letter. we were all so worried."

"soryr for worrying you," he said halheartedly. "please let go, I have to find my friends on the train."

his mother hesitantly lets go of him. "Um, ronnie, i was thinking ... over christmas break we could have a dinner at sirius' house. we'd like for you to come."

"no, thank you." he disentagled from her. "it was nice seeing you all", he said to the adults, not including arthur, "i'm going on the train."

and then as he left, the rest of the world seemed to converg on him. everyone croweded him, shouting over each other to get his attention.
