I make all my music in Logic Pro. Everything is MIDI (digital instruments). Using mostly stock Logic plugins. Everything is made 100% by me (no samples of other songs, no AI, etc.)
I'm currently learning vocals. Soon I'm going to make a song that involves me actually singing. I have one with singing so far, but it's not that good.

A strange song. I'm not sure what the genre is -- sounds kinda video-game-y to me? I just put random fun stuff together.
I used a ton of modulation on this. I figured out how to correctly set up my keyboard to Logic Pro, so now I can use the faders and automate stuff in real time, which makes it quite nice. This was at the recommendation of a friend who is really good at producing. So, I took his advice and started modulating more in my music.
This entire song was composed with my voice, turned to MIDI, which is why it uses such strange chords. I honestly like this process better than composing on a piano. It feels more natural and emergent.

This was my first song with prominent vocals. The vocals aren't that good, but I guess I have to start somewhere ...
Regardless of all this, I'm quite excited about the song. I like the composition, though my singing can use a lot of work.
This was recorded on my phone. I sang it with a blanket over my head to prevent unwanted reverb from my room.
The actual composition was done very quickly -- around 3 hours. It's a bit unique from my other pieces in that it uses a lot of rubato (tiny tempo changes). And in general, it's much looser timing than everything else.
I couldn't quite get my singing to sound how I wanted, so at some point I just chose the best of my many takes and called it good enough. I figured the composition could carry the piece.
I find the actual lyrics and title cringe, however I kind of did this on purpose. My biggest barrier to releasing songs with my vocals was the embarassment of what people would think. So I made the first song as embarassing as I can! Boom, easy, now I don't have to be embarassed anymore.

The Light Returns

I technically have my voice in this song. It follows the lead melody and is pitched up an octave. Initially, I recorded it thinking I would use it just as inspiration for the lead instrumental melody. But I liked how it sounded so kept it in at a low volume. It interacts nicely with the violins, in my opinion.
All my latest songs have really heavy distorted basses, so I tried to get away from that in this one. I still snuck in a distorted synth bass, but it's not as in-your-face as the other songs.
In general, I tried to stick mostly to acoustic-sounding instruments in this, rather than all the chaotic synth stuff I've been doing recently.

Another experimental song. This one I consider more of an "experience", rather than something to be casually listened to.
I bought a midi keyboard again. And I composed the entire song on it. Before this, I would click in all the notes manually. I had forgotten how fast it was to create chords on a keyboard (rather than trying to find them by clicking in notes).

A random melody that I wrote out a few months ago, and decided to turn into a lofi song.
The title is a word I made up when I was a kid. It was the name I used for a contraption I would regularly build which was a bunch of chairs tied together by ropes. I thought the title fit the song rather well.

A fun song to make. Took me about 4 months of very sporadic work. The genre is kind of trance EDM. I had struggled to get an EDM song to sound good for a while, so I was happy with this one.

This one took me about 3 months of on-and-off work to make. The main "idea" of the song changed many times. In fact, at some point I split the song into half and made two different songs from it.
It doesn't use a typical key scale -- rather, I made my own that fit with my initial melody demo.
You Never Learned How

I was very focused when making this (took me about a week). One day, I worked on it for 15 hours non-stop.
It’s pretty experimental. It uses 5/4 meter, Phrygian key, and changes genres multiple times.
I struggled at the start to get it to sound good and coherent, but then it all suddenly started clicking.
I've recorded demo vocals for this, and will do the full ones soon.

It has two distinct parts. The second starts at about 1:10.
This was the first song I ever made where I felt I had actually made something quite good.
Set the Man on Fire

This was me experimenting with modulation (which is now one of my favorite tools to use). I wanted to see if I could make a repeating song interesting over time (inspired by "Let It Happen" by Tame Impala).
The chords in this were very intentional. It repeats the V chord (which is very tense, and wants to go to the I chord), and then the I chord quickly plays (so the listener remembers that I is the tonic, and doesn't start to think that V is), and then quickly goes back to V to keep the tension going.

This was my first full-length song. The original version of this was extremely cluttered at the end, but I learned some great lessons that let me fix it.

My original song. It's more of a demo, but holds a very special place in my heart. I've listened to this song an incredible amount of times. Every time I drove my car, I would play it on repeat and sing to it.
I lost the original Logic project for it, but luckily I still have the audio file.
Made this while I was playing around on the piano, and then put it all together.
